![]() The devs stated on their Twitter it would be 4k/30 and 2k qhd/60. So maybe there's no bug and it's a combination of a bad implementation of FSR not playing well with VRS? He didn't say that VRS is bugged but he did say it's a "middling implementation". This is hardly the definitive analysis though and many questions remain but he suggested the devs tweak FSR and add a sharpness toggle to settings. According to him both ps5 and sx perform roughly the same in the performance mode. ![]() My biggest takeaway is that the games FSR2 implementation on both consoles is not good and that the devs forgot to add sharpening to counteract softness from FSR. ![]() He didn't address whether the patch indeed introduced any bugs but he did address image quality issues. Or at least it was 1440p prior to day 1 patch. This footage isprior to the day 1 patch though but according to him it IS 1440p on ps5/sx. Ign (Michael aka NX Gamer) just put out an analysis video of all platforms. That's not to say you don't have a valid point that IGN and the like are generally paid off and will shit on new IPs at the behest of the people paying them, but in the case of these two games both industry reviewers and independent reviewers were on the same page. Because the main reviews for them were pretty accurate. Independent reviewers (ACG, SkillUp, Gamranx, etc) all also had similar opinions to industry reviews on those games. It's like it need a few more months to just work out the kinks and add just a bit more to the game and it would've been almost as great as the OG dead space was at launch. It's really great in many ways, but also really flawed in many ways. And Callisto Protocol (which I loved btw) is just shy of being great. (And yes I understand why the character is an angsty teenager, but she has no growth throughout the game and makes the whole experience unenjoyable). It really needed a stronger leadership voice to direct it. Too many cooks in the kitchen is the vibe it gives me. It's a really great and creative idea, just executed poorly. Forspoken is a game that has an unlikable protagonist and a lack of overall narrative direction. Don't see how a last gen looking remaster like this is struggling on these next gen consoles that are twice as powerful as the mid gen pro/xb1x consoles.Įhhh. The fact that they're not able to allow console to remove VRS is not good. The devs made some bad design decisions on console and that's why we're going to be stuck with poor image quality. ![]() These devs all know this when they conveniently send out PC review codes and bank on the fact that reviewers often don't even state which platform they review on. It's pretty sad how image quality is always glossed over by reviewers, who 95% of the time are getting the PC version to review anyway and playing it on a high end PC. Reviewers that all praised the visuals to the high heavens missed these issues just like they always do. Also, I don't think they're going to even be able to fix things much with a patch. They even stated on their official Twitter it would be 4k/30/rt and 1440p/60 and low and behold it's a tally 144pp/p/60! My friends on PC have issues as well but at least they have more options to troubleshoot and work around them, while I'm stuck with this blurry pixelated mess. Either the dev or QA/QC team massively dropped the ball on this front. I know this has nothing to do with you u/EAkfam but I find this is unacceptable at this point. I can't even refund the game as Sony Support over the weekend just leave you on hold hoping you'd give up rather than having to deal with you. Spent 80 euros(86$!!!) in Romania on the standard PS5 version so I don't have to worry about issues at launch, but here we are with another game causing big problems for quite a number of people. I had set aside two and half days specifically to get in a playthrough of this game over the weekend, and now I probably won't get that chance for another two or three weeks. I spent more time online looking for answers and solutions to the messy visuals than I spent playing the game.
